THE TREATMENT

After choosing the type of filling, the dentist will proceed to treatment. This may entail removing the damaged or decayed part of the tooth. The affected tooth will then be cleaned and prepped before the filling is applied.

If you choose a white filling, this helps the dentist to retain more of your natural tooth as, unlike a metal filling, the composite resin is bonded directly to the tooth.. Like a regular filling, a white filling helps restore a tooth damaged by decay, strengthening it and protecting it from further deterioration. However, the added benefit of a white filling is that it blends into the mouth, so your treatment is invisible yet effective.
